About the ADR Section

The Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Section of the State Bar of Texas promotes the effective use of mediation, arbitration, collaborative law, and other dispute resolution processes throughout Texas. The Section serves attorneys, mediators, arbitrators, judges, and ADR professionals by providing education, professional networking opportunities, leadership development, and resources that strengthen the practice of dispute resolution.

Established to foster the advancement of mediation, arbitration, neutral evaluation, and collaborative law, the ADR Section offers numerous benefits to its members. These include opportunities to network with professionals across various ADR practices, access to reasonably priced Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs featuring influential figures in the field, and numerous ADR-focused CLE articles that provide updates on the latest cases, ethical considerations, and developments in ADR.

Leadership and Governance

The ADR Section is guided by an elected Council that provides leadership for the organization and its members across Texas. Council members oversee educational initiatives, professional development opportunities, committee activities, and programs that support the growth and advancement of alternative dispute resolution.

Continuing Legal Education

The ADR Section partners with TexasBarCLE to offer specialized educational programs covering mediation, arbitration, collaborative law, ethics, and emerging developments in dispute resolution. These programs help practitioners stay informed while earning valuable MCLE credit.
